Rajasthan signed 269 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs.1,584 billion (about $40 billion) investment during the two-day Resurgent Rajasthan-Partnership Summit that concluded here Saturday.
While MoUs and letters of intent (LOIs) worth Rs.1,550 billion were signed on the first day, MoUs of over Rs.30 billion were signed on the spot by about 200 investors from India and abroad during their discussions with the state's ministers and officers.
The summit, organised by the Rajasthan government and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), aimed to showcase the investment potential of the stare and facilitate investments.
At the summit, proposals relating to non-conventional energy sources, urban development, tourism, agriculture, technical education and higher education were discussed.
Rajasthan's Industries Minister Narpat Singh Rajvi told potential investors Saturday that better opportunities for investment had been created following strengthening of infrastructure facilities.
"We would provide every possible support to the investors," Rajvi said.
Talking about power sector reforms in the state, Minister of State for Energy G.S. Khinvsar spoke about achievements of the feeder reform programme.
