Cheerleaders of IPL

Cleavage ho!Back to the basics

Cleavage ho!

There is lot of debate, analysis; criticism is going on in the media about this cleavage thing. It appears that after the toss and grind by the cheerleaders the subject has hotted up more.

It is being discussed whether it is good or bad exposing ones well kept secret. The song “Choli ke peche kya hai...” gained popularity or notoriety by asking this simple question on cleavage. But now Mallika Sherawat and likes of her is not giving any scope in asking that question again as it is there for all to see and understand the labour or the surgical method in keeping those in place.

I read in one of the news papers where fashion designers are advising when to flaunt ones cleavage and when not to. For example if you are going to a night club then it is ok but remember you have to pass through those lanes and by lanes full of lecherous people to reach your destination, so don’t display the wares on the way, but then the aam aadmi is deprived of the pleasure. But if you are visiting your in laws then it is a taboo so better cover up and act as real Bhartiya nari, so on and so forth.
There is a school of thought which thinks that more of cleavage means less of brain, I am not sure whether this is scientifically proven or not, it may be chauvinistic view point of males. Some males are also prone to show their cleavage like Salman Khan does or for that matter the shaved off chest of Anil Kapoor in Tashan.

The cleavage thing is there in India since Gupta period and beyond and so nothing new about it. Don’t you see hoards of tourists queuing up for Ajanta, Khajuraho, and Konarak etc just to ogle at those carvings on the walls?  I think British are to be blamed for bringing those fancy clothing in India, otherwise it was there for all to gaze at.

If I remember correctly Merlyn Monroe and Brigit Bardot glamorized these in Hollywood. In recent times it is Pamela Anderson who flaunted these in Baywatch. Zeenat Aman ushered this trend in Bollywood and now of course this has become the vehicle for stardom.
