Many deals are under negotiation within country before the BIG deal would be struck finally with USA, NSG etc.

With the JMM now declaring their ‘support’ for UPA (Atleast for now) and Ajit Singh’s RLD declaring to go with Mayawati,  Mulayam’s score is down to 34 from 39, BJP is worried over some ‘abstentions’ while Congress lost 2 already may be more in line, the political scene is totally convoluted. No one knows what would be the final tally on 22nd !

New ‘revelations’ by Kapil Sibbal today suggests that L.K Advani, Vajpayee, Brijesh Mishra supported the Nuclear deal in a secret meeting with Manmohan Singh. Now, such ‘revelations’ would increase in frequency daily. Veracity of such claims should be verified. This may very well be true. But, Kapil Sibbal’s past doesn’t inspire confidence.

But one fact is emerging very clearly, that we are all witnessing the ‘greatness’ of the “Coalition Politics”!! More the number of regional parties at national level they will always make national interest secondary and their parochial interest supreme.

Horse-trading is direct outcome of this coalition era that has been in practice since one decade.

The number of MPs ‘sold’ today – irrespective of political affiliations, is same as number used to be sold before the Anti-Defection Law! The Anti-defection Law helped in preventing poaching and purchasing MPs from bigger parties, because of the sheer size of the ‘purchase’! But to purchase MPs from smaller parties, it is easy to cross 50% limit to sneak through anti-defection law’s radar!

So, the law is not helping the cause! The political corruption is increasing! The political blackmail – exercised by the types of Leftists, Shibu Soren, Dewe Gowda,  Ajit Singh, Akalis, Shiv Sena, etc., must be eliminated.

But this is NOT possible unless their political bargain power is curtailed!

Question arises: Does coalition politics – as exists today, really healthy for the country? Should we go back to two political party system – atleast at national level? Should we as voter now provide full mandate to a political parties and prevent this Fractured verdict?

Recent few assembly elections raises some hope. See first it started with UP. No one thought that UP now would provide a full mandate to one political party – BSP ! You may dislike Mayawati, but people have provided her with full majority to ‘perform’ her duties without getting worried about ‘allies’. She has to prove to these voters!  Same happened later in Gujarat. Many channels were predicting hung house. But Modi sailed through!  And the even bigger surprise was Karnataka! Not a single person would have thought that people will go for full mandate instead of fractured one and enable Gowda to blackmail (either BJP or Congress) again!

Do we see same happening at national level in next general election now, after what we have witnessed in last 4 years?? Left’s blackmail has now been properly documented in pages of history books, and this trust vote for UPA govt. is eradicating the entire trust people have on Parliament!!

Is the country ready for a fully functional, self-sufficient government???
