Well the Sixth Pay Commission has submitted its recommendations and everyone is waiting for the govts response to it.
Being an entry level executive in a leading PSU i feel that not a day passes without someone or the other discussing about the coming "pay hike".Well the scenarios predicted after the pay hikes are announced quite border the extreme.
In the present climate of economic boom everyone with some experience in the PSU has quite a few offers on his hand from the private/MNC with a hefty package. These people are presently waiting for the big announcement before they could take any decision.
It is therefore a catch22 like situation for the PSU's to not lose their experienced hands and at the same time to not make a big demand on the exchequer. It is difficult to prevent individuals from taking decisions on their career under the present scenario.Everone wants to enjoy the present boom scenario on the job market.
"Make Hay while the sun shines" may fit apt for the above case.
It is difficult to find people committed to nation building working in PSU's.hence a large majority is bound to take decisions on economic basis .It is time that the govt wakes up to the situation and bails out the PSU's by announcing some appreciable pay hikes on par to the private sector.
