On September 12^th 2001, President Bush declared “Either you are with us or against us”! That chilling warning to the nation states who were harboring and nurturing terrorism as a state policy was enough to make 180 degree turn in their policies. 

One telephone call from Collin Powell, the then Secretary of Sate of USA to Mushraff  was enough to make Pakistan a “Frontline ally in the war against terrorism”!

Many doubts and years later, still Pakistan under its current artificial skin is a terrorist state. Recent involvement of ISI in Kabul Embassy bombing proves it. But, Indian Prime Minister has suddenly given Pakistan a new status "a Victim State" instead of a "state which support Terrorism as state policy"!

We in India were always a country which remained target of state sponsored terrorism. India always projected itself as a country “peace-loving”, “accommodative” and “Secular”. It wanted to project itself as a “soft Power”, whatever that mean! Terrorism was condemned in unison. No one even dared to say: “let’s talk about root causes for Terrorism” – euphuism to justify acts of terrorism.

There was a consensus – fragile though, on political front to confront terrorism. Though there were always lowly political dirty tricks were played in ‘criticizing’ the POTA/TADA law etc.  It was never used as a ploy to temper/tinker with the wider struggle against terrorism. Intelligence agencies and army/police forces were not used for petty political gains.

All terrorist outfits were treated like terrorists organization and deservingly banned/attacked. Be it LeT, Huji, JM, HuA, SIMI etc.

Now suddenly the government of the day has second opinion about entire concept of Terrorism. Government ministers are suggesting that banning SIMI is not correct, ban must be lifted. 

Not a single government functionary every disowned this demand/statement/suggestion. Infact the political party – Congress which runs the government today, accepted this demand and ratified it as a legitimate one!

A full 180 degrees turn in the opinion of the government of a democratic country which never shy away in posing as a peace-loving country! What a shock!!
 
If I were not an Indian and don’t understand its politics, I would start considering India as country led by a government willingly supporting terrorist organization. I would not differentiate between what Pakistan does and what India does. I will consider another Asian country which has a rogue government like Ahemedinajad of Iran!

Incapable Prime Minister and incompetent Home Minister are mute spectator. They are very cunningly destroying evidences against SIMI or not presenting it to the tribunals so that ban is lifted.

Here we have a Prime Minister who said that he lost sleep when Md. Haneef was caught by Australian Police for alleged links with terrorists. So, he does indicate that if another democratic country nab a alleged terrorist, he looses sleep, mean he (as head of a country) has something to hide and worry about interrogation??

 
On the other hand his attitude towards blast victims in India remains like that of PM of Pakistan i.e. “hypocritical”!!

Overall intention appear to be declare the victim community as agressors and Aggressors/terrorists as victims. That is a remarkable similar approach adopted by all terrorists nations or groups.

Home-Minister openly linked case of Afazal Guru with that of helpless Sarbjeet  Singh in Pakistan jail since decades.

So, it can be inferred that they (PM and Home Minister) too subtly support this idea of lifting the ban.

I saw Salman Khurshid on NDTV, spokesman of Congress today openly defending SIMI and talk about Gujarat riots’ reaction. To the benefit of readers here, it is important to note the Salman Khurshid was the lawyer for SIMI in courts defending it.

Margret Alwa another leader of Congress party spoke of “Iraq War” when confronted why attacks are happening. Many other leaders of the party openly talk about “grievances” that can lead to “terrorists” across country!

I don’t know if Hindus have any grievance! Because if grievances can led to terrorism then we would have had around 85 Crore terrorists in India today.!

The abject surrender to separatists forces in Jammu and Kashmir over a small piece of land to visitor pilgrims by both State government and Central government is case in point. Absdullas are now hailed as new 'symbol' of secularism after Omar's hhighly communal speech in Parliament. That speech was hailed by ruling quarter as well as media as if this the voice of the nation. He said "J&K is our land and we will NOT give that land to anyone even if we die!"  This is new definition of patriotism and secularism in this country!

It means Congress as a national party has taken stand that: Terrorism is happening in India as a result of some other events – Iraq war, Gujarat riots etc. and hence “justified”!!

Hence it becomes the official position of the government of India. Posturing of getting stays from SC on uplifting the ban wouldn’t be sufficient to dispel the notions that government really is against terrorism.

So, India is now transforming itself from a country that was victim of Terrorism and was fighting it, to a country that nurture and support Terrorist groups and terrorism as ideology. Atleast this government is giving this impression unquestionably.

Giving this stand of the Indian government today, why should any responsible international government take India seriously when it cry about terrorists acts within its territory? Why not we be treated like Pakistan where 100s die everyday in bombings carried out by Jehadis and no one take notice?

Many people will react to me saying that you are making mountain of a mole hill. I would like to remind them, that it merely a posturing that can make the difference between life and death on this issue of terrorism. We are NOT talking of loose politicians here, we are talking of a Cabinet Minister and a former CM of biggest State of India (UP). I have already quoted stand of PM and Home Minister. 

Also, it is not just an issue of political posturing and then issuing statement. The unwillingness to persue cases against SIMI on recent terrorists attcks, properly and with vigor hence reflecting lifting of Ban by Hi Court tribunal is concrete positioning of actions also by the government.

The media in rogue countries  like Pakistan and Iran etc., always try to ‘justify’ the terrorism in the  name of 'root causes'. We can add name of India in this category too when our media is now openly justifying the bombings of Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Jaipur, and Surat (luckily saved). There are tries to ‘reason’ the attack on parliament too.

If this trend continue, I have no doubt that in few years from now, we will have terrorists groups who wouldn't only be able to carryout attacks within India, but elsewhere in world!!  There are many 'safe heavens'  within India to harbor such terrorists groups!

Isn’t it significant enough for all Indians to stand up and take note of these devlopment and 180 degrees turn in Natitonal policy/will? 

It is in the hands of people of this country whether they want to be part of terrorism or part of group that want to fight this menace!

Or are we waiting for another Telephone call from another Secretary of State of USA saying “Either you are with us or against us!”
