British police have arrested one person in connection with the brutal murder of a 23-year-old Indian student at her hostel in the University of Wolverhampton.
V Jyotirmayee Nagasaibabu, the Vijayawada-origin student had died of head injuries at Handsworth, a suburb of Birmingham on Tuesday evening.
The West Midlands Police spokesman said that the unidentified man, 24, was arrested on suspicion of the murder and was currently helping the police with their enquiries.
Jyotirmayee, who was enrolled on a post-graduate degree in Health Sciences at the University of Wolverhampton, was based in the Handsworth area of Birmingham, 11 miles from her campus at Wolverhampton.
